In a world where nearly every company is competing for your attention, we chose a different path. A quieter one. Possibly the only quiet thing about a comedy club.
Research has raised real concerns about the impact excessive social media use can have on anxiety, depression, loneliness, and self-esteem, especially among young people. As a company whose entire mission is built around supporting mental health and suicide prevention, it didn't feel right to encourage more scrolling. We couldn't sell you water with one hand and anxiety with the other.
Probably Water was created to celebrate something that's becoming genuinely rare: people in the same room, laughing together, actually present with one another. Comedy clubs do that better than any algorithm ever will.
So instead of spending our energy chasing likes, followers, and viral moments we'll forget by Tuesday, we'd rather spend it on a great product, meaningful partnerships with comedy clubs, and organizations working to make sure more people get the chance to be in that room.
